Y’all! It’s already August!
My hysterectomy recovery has been going great. Honestly, the hardest thing has just been following doctor’s orders because I’ve felt so good. Now I’m at 7 weeks post-surgery and my limitations have been lifted, which means I can now PICK UP my grandbabies when they come over. Of course it also means that my kettlebells and I have been reunited. 😉 I’m still being careful and returning to my pre-surgery training gradually, listening to my body as I go. But it sure does feel good to be getting back to my regular routine.
What I’m loving right now
This dinner combo I’ve been loving lately has been one of my recent faves:
It’s a grilled turkey burger with just a bit of gluten-free soy sauce, steamed broccoli (also with soy sauce), and baked sweet potato with TJ’s “Everything but the Bagel” Sesame seasoning. If you don’t have a Trader Joes in your area, you can order the seasoning online.
So much yum!
Another favorite recipe is the “Flu Fighter” Chicken Stew from the Run Fast Eat Slow cookbook. I just found out the authors are releasing a brand new cookbook of fast and easy recipes. I love the original cookbook and I love food but I hate complicated recipes, so I’ve already pre-ordered the new one!
